McCormack / Kincaid Compete in Air Race Classic

AwardTwo flight instructors from the Institute of Aviation, Alice McCormack and Tena Kincaid, competed in the 2011 Air Race Classic, finishing 2nd overall.  The Air Race Classic is a cross country air race for women held each summer, crossing different routes across the United States and Canada.  Contestants race approximately 2400 miles over a period of 4 days, flying in day, VFR conditions.  The fastest aircraft does not necessarily win the race.  Each aircraft is handicapped and each race team must fly their aircraft precisely to achieve as high a ground speed as possible over their handicap.  To learn more about the Air Race Classic, visit their website, www.airraceclassic.org.

Congratulations Alice and Tena!
